Tendril unbranched or bifurcate. Inflorescence usually a polychasium. Seeds elliptic, obovoid-elliptic, or obtriangular, surface smooth, corrugated, or with strumose protuberance or ribs.
Stems 50-150 cm tall, usually branched throughout, densely to very sparsely strigillose, with long suberect red pustulate-based hairs, and glandular hairs on inflorescence.
Syconium (syconus) A composite inflorescence or fruit in which the small individual flowers are borne on the inside of a hollow receptacle, as in figs (Ficus).
