14.You see those streets in England, you see them in Switzerland, where cars, bicyclists, pedestrians are all navigating, sometimes even without striped lanes, the same roadway.
15.A 2016 study found that large trucks made up only 3.6% of vehicles in New York City but are responsible for 32% of bicyclist fatalities and 12% of pedestrian fatalities.
16.They also have a bunch of sensors to constantly scan the area around the them, looking for any hazards -- whether that's another car, a bicyclist, or even a rogue bird!
17.So, they didn't worry as much about hitting the bicyclist, and they actually drove closer to them, which, of course, is more dangerous for the bicyclist.
19.[Jane] And if you're a human, we know humans, use this kind of technique too. Often it's called drafting. You might see cyclists doing it, like one bicyclist will be right behind another one.
