I don't believe in luck. I think luck is preparation meeting opportunity, but I felt like I had somewhat prepared myself, but that I had happenstanced into it.
So if something happens at one pulsar, you wouldn't expect it to be happening at the other pulsar just by happenstance unless there was something passing through the entire galaxy.
We plan, think, and act, often with apparent freedom, but most of the time our lives 'happen to us', and we only retrospectively turn this happenstance into a coherent narrative of fulfilled intentions.
But now we know it's a coincidence; by sheer happenstance, the cluster is colliding with an unrelated cloud of dust — it's like driving a car through a dust cloud thrown up by a truck that went past you earlier.
